SEBASTIAN:

  he hears the door open, feels his other half’s presence,         so poignant in the
  scented air, and he freezes, face flushing a deep red,          nerves gnawing at him
  with a ferocious hunger. he can’t BREATHE,             and for once, it’s not his own
  choosing that does this. it’s the reality that’s sinking in,               the ring box in his
  pocket growing heavier and heavier with each stride,         and when he makes his
  way to the front to greet his chester,     it takes a great deal of thinking to make his
  mouth move the way it needs to. he can’t formulate the words; he can’t rationalize 
  what he needs to say. he’s proposing tonight,          and it can’t come fast enough.

  trembling hands move to take the messenger bag from   chester’s shoulder;
  he walks it to the living room and sets it down on the couch. wordless. eyes

  again, and returns with drinks ― water for chester,  wine for sebastian. the
